Sail Croatia

A 7-Day Adventure Through the Dalmatian Islands

Split • Brač • Vis • Hvar • Pakleni Islands • Šolta

There is something different about experiencing Croatia from the water.

Wake up in a quiet harbor. Have coffee on deck. Sail across brilliant blue water to an island you haven't explored yet. Drop anchor in a secluded cove for lunch and a swim. Then step ashore that evening to wander ancient stone streets and find a waterfront restaurant for dinner.

With STL Skippers, the boat isn't simply where you sleep. It's how you experience Croatia.

Here's a taste of what seven days sailing the Dalmatian Coast could look like.

DAY 1

Split → Brač

Welcome to the Adriatic

Step aboard, unpack your bags and settle into island time.

After a quick introduction to the catamaran, we'll leave the marina behind and sail across the channel toward the island of Brač.

We'll find our first swimming spot, break out the snorkel gear and enjoy our first afternoon on the Adriatic before heading into a harbor for the evening.

Tonight, we'll toast the beginning of the adventure over dinner at a traditional Croatian konoba.

Experience: Sailing • Swimming • Snorkeling • Waterfront Dinner • Sunset Drinks

DAY 2

Brač → Vis

Sail Somewhere Different

Coffee. Breakfast. Sails up.

Today we head farther into the Adriatic toward the island of Vis.

For decades, Vis was largely closed to foreign visitors because of its military importance. That isolation helped preserve the island's character, and today it remains one of Croatia's most fascinating sailing destinations.

Once ashore, explore the island by scooter or e-bike, visit old military tunnels, discover local vineyards or simply wander along the waterfront.

Then we'll find somewhere memorable for dinner.

Experience: Open-Water Sailing • Island Exploring • Military History • Local Wine • Croatian Cuisine

DAY 3

Vis • Biševo • Komiža

Caves, Cliffs & Crystal-Clear Water

Today we're going exploring.

Weather permitting, we'll head toward the tiny island of Biševo and Croatia's famous Blue Cave, where sunlight creates an incredible blue glow inside the cavern.

From there, we'll search out some of the area's spectacular swimming spots before making our way to Komiža, an old fishing village tucked against the mountains of Vis.

Spend the evening wandering its narrow stone streets, grab a drink along the waterfront and enjoy fresh seafood overlooking the harbor.

Experience: Blue Cave • Hidden Coves • Swimming • Snorkeling • Komiža • Fresh Seafood

DAY 4

Vis → Pakleni Islands → Hvar

The Big Day Out

Today combines everything we love about sailing Croatia.

We'll leave Vis and head toward the Pakleni Islands, a beautiful chain of small islands just offshore from Hvar.

We'll find a protected bay and drop anchor.

Swim. Snorkel. Paddleboard. Float. Have lunch aboard. Relax in the sun.

There is nowhere we need to be until we're ready.

Later, we'll head toward Hvar Town.

Walk the historic streets, climb to the fortress overlooking the harbor, find an incredible restaurant and—if you're up for it—experience some of Hvar's famous nightlife.

Experience: Sailing • Pakleni Islands • Swimming • Paddleboarding • Hvar Fortress • Dining • Nightlife

DAY 5

Hvar → Stari Grad

Slow It Down

After Hvar, it's time for a different side of Croatia.

We'll sail toward Stari Grad, stopping whenever the Adriatic gives us a good reason to.

Maybe it's a beautiful cove.

Maybe everyone wants another swim.

Maybe lunch lasts two hours.

That's the point.

Once ashore in Stari Grad, explore centuries-old streets, visit a local winery or olive-oil producer and settle in for dinner at a family-run konoba.

Experience: Relaxed Sailing • Hidden Coves • Stari Grad • Wine • Olive Oil • Local Food

DAY 6

Hvar → Šolta

Find the Quiet Water

Today we leave the crowds behind.

The island of Šolta gives us a chance to slow everything down for our final full day aboard.

We'll find a beautiful anchorage, drop the hook and spend the afternoon enjoying the reason we came here in the first place.

Swim off the back of the boat.

Grab a paddleboard.

Explore the shoreline.

Or do absolutely nothing.

As the sun begins to set, pour a drink and enjoy one last Croatian evening from the deck of the catamaran.

Experience: Secluded Anchorages • Swimming • Paddleboarding • Maslinica • Sunset Cocktails • Island Dinner

DAY 7

Šolta → Split

One Last Sail

Nobody wants to head back yet.

So we'll make the most of it.

Breakfast aboard, one last swim and a final sail across the Adriatic toward Split.

We'll return to the marina with salty clothes, hundreds of photos and probably a few stories that shouldn't make it onto the website.

And somewhere during that final sail, the conversation usually starts:

“So…where are we going next?”

This Isn't a Cruise.

There are no crowded tour buses waiting for us.

No buffet lines.

No schedule telling you that you have exactly 47 minutes to explore an island.

And no requirement that we follow this exact itinerary.

This is your week.

Want more sailing? We'll sail.

Want secluded anchorages? We'll find them.

Want restaurants and nightlife? We know where we're headed.

Want to spend an afternoon floating behind the boat with a cold drink?

That sounds pretty good too.

Weather and sea conditions ultimately determine where we can safely go, but beyond that, the adventure is built around the people aboard.

Come Sail With Us.

Seven days. Incredible islands. One catamaran.

And an entirely different way to experience Croatia.
